A Lesson Learned

I have this favorite student who’s been with me for more than a year now. He’s a typical Korean guy, in his late thirty’s. a workaholic, and for some reason still single up to now. I like listening to his endless stories about his tiring work, their fast paced culture and most of all his on and off girlfriend. I think he’s just too desperate to find a wife that’s why he couldn’t let go of her and beside in his age he should’ve already married. It’s part of their norms. Last night we talked about gambling, and he told me that he’s into real live casino nowadays. I don’t really know much about casinos so my natural response was to change the topic but he insisted on talking about a live online casino, a site which he himself visits regularly and introduced me to some of their online games. He even gave me his ID and password to navigate the entire website. I couldn’t blame him for gambling online because it’s just one of the ways to relieve his stress. There was this game that I really couldn’t open and he told me that maybe my computer doesn’t have a live dealer casino so my access is limited. Finally I’d given up and told him that casino’s not really for me.
