Raking It Up
Rakeback is that portion of a rebate passed from an online poker site to its affiliates that makes it back to the player. For example, suppose that you start an account with your favorite site through an affiliate. The site has negotiated compensation with the affiliate for bringing in your business, usually about half the rake that you generate. Rakeback is paid in many ways by online poker rooms, affiliates or brick and mortar rooms. Many use direct money payments for online poker play. Brick and Mortar rooms usually use rate cards to track and pay their rakeback. I first learned about this when my friend told me to try playing absolute rakeback since I’ve been playing the regular poker game for quite some time now and haven’t learned any other variants of the game. He told me to try signing up with Players Only Rakeback so I could have a nice start with it. Since I am very much familiar with poker, he told me it should be a big problem and I could easily adjust to the rules. I gave it a try and I guess I never looked back because it has become one of my favorite games of all time.
